Shri Anugraha Narayana Das
IDAS, Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA)Shri R. K. Arora, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi, joined the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) in 1990. He brings over three decades of rich experience in financial policy, accounting, audit, budgeting, procurement, and personnel management.
He has served the Government of India in several senior capacities, including:
Additional Secretary, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
Finance Manager (Air), Acquisition Wing, Ministry of Defence
Director, Ministry of Finance
Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) at HQ Central Command (Indian Army), HQ Training Command (IAF), and HQ Indian Coast Guard
Member (Finance), erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board
He has also served extensively in various field offices of the Defence Accounts Department and as Special CGDA at CGDA Headquarters before assuming charge as Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) on 1st August this year.
Shri Arora has represented India in high-level official delegations to the USA, France, Italy, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. A domain expert in public procurement, he was invited as a distinguished speaker at the International Seminar on Defence Acquisition organized by IDSA in 2011, where he also presented a paper. He is a guest faculty on public procurement at premier training institutions of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Defence Accounts Department.
